How rows are logged

Every row answers the same three questions. The answers differ; the questions do not. That is what makes the sheet comparable line to line.

1. What the listing settles

Some things can be read straight off a listing: the shape of a toe box, the density of a knit in a close-up, whether the print is aligned to the seam. Those go in the "settles" column.

2. What it leaves open

More than sellers admit. A photograph taken under flat warehouse light cannot tell you how a colour behaves in daylight, how heavy a fabric is, or whether the batch that ships matches the batch that was photographed. Those are written down as open, not smoothed over.

3. How the parcel gets built

Shipping is charged by weight at the warehouse, once everything has arrived. Rows are tagged Light, Medium or Heavy so a parcel can be put together before ordering rather than after. Five Light rows cost roughly what one Heavy row costs to move.

Ordering, step by step

  1. Open the row you want and read the call. If the row says the listing leaves the essential thing unsettled, that is the answer.
  2. Follow the link to LitBuy and check the live price, the size run and the stock there. The CNY figure on this site is a reference, not an offer.
  3. Pay LitBuy, not the seller. The item ships to the warehouse first.
  4. QC photographs arrive at the warehouse. Approve, exchange or return while the item is still in China — after it leaves, returns stop being practical.
  5. Consolidate the Light rows into one parcel and pick a line. Heavy rows usually justify their own parcel.
